Nowadays,
the world witnessed a technological and technical development and the growth of
interest of the use of geographical and institutional information systems in
different daily lives practices. As it witnessed a demographic explosion that
had a great impact on people`s movement from the rural areas to the urban ones
through the emergence of new cities the problems of which has increased and had
negative wash-back on the rural environment.
In this concern, a new city
generation has emerged called the smart cities dependent on developed
technology. In this paper, three essential parts will be investigated. The
first part is concerned with the properties and the principles upon which the
city is based and which qualifies it to a more rational systemic scope and rule
a balanced, economic and social system that is based on an environmental scope
as one of its essential principles. The second part will focus on an
investigation of some exemplary smart cities such as the strategy of ‘the smart
city, Dubai’ and London ‘2020 perspective’ and in Songdo-South of Korea. The
third and last part is concerned with experimenting the smart cities in Morocco
and the constraints of putting it into reality and its implications of
application.
